Are you looking for a permanent position to assist with the day to day safe operations in a Material Recycling Facility?

  • We have an exciting position for an enthusiastic person who wants to make a difference and feel recognised. No experience needed, full training will be provided, Fork Lift truck licence desirable.
  • Working with an experienced team, the role consists of loading / unloading vehicles and material movement using FLT’s, general site maintenance activities and site improvement projects.

  • Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 17:00, 47.5hrs per week.
  • Immediate start.
  • £11 per hour following successful completion on probation period. 
About the role

What will I be doing?

  • To direct and control vehicles to designated disposal areas and assist them with off-loading as required.
  • Operate forklift trucks to move material and load / unload vehicles.
  • To carry out inspections on incoming products in line with the site waste acceptance criteria and report any non-compliant loads.
  • To safely and efficiently operate fixed machinery, such as bailing machines and sorting lines.
  • Complete daily checks of all plant and equipment used at the facility.
  • Assisting sampling operatives with collection of output samples.
  • To ensure the site is kept clean and tidy at all times and to comply fully with all company procedures.
  • Complete end of shift plant clean-downs and ensure site compliance is maintained.
  • To contribute to lean and 5’s activities across the site in order to maintain a clean, organised and efficient workplace.
  • To work as part of a team to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation, ensuring that SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.

 

What are the requirements?

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • In order to make an immediate impact, we are ideally seeking an experienced forklift operator who holds relevant certification, but for the right candidate training can be given.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • A safety conscious approach with the desire to develop & embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage, but not a necessity.
