What will I be doing?
We’ll look to you to provide planned and reactive maintenance for all control and instrumentation areas of our plant. In fact, you’ll be the on-site expert for specialist equipment such as Continuous Emission Monitoring CEMs and DCS. At the same time, you’ll be a source of guidance for more junior staff, providing direct supervision and helping them develop their skills. You’ll also supervise contract personnel, advise the rest of the team and form part of a 24-hour call-out rota, covering plant breakdowns outside normal working hours.
What are the requirements?
To join us in this key role, you’ll need specialist training covering process control and measurement; DCS, CEM hardware, regulatory monitoring requirements (MCERTS) (desired) and PLC. You’ll have gained this through a degree/HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, an Engineering Apprenticeship and through a previous maintenance engineering role, based in a process, steam raising or heavy engineering environment. You’ll combine all this with a Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) and the ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Familiar with BS 7671: 2008 17th edition wiring regulations and C&G 2377 PAT testing, you’ll be a critical source of knowledge for our wider team.
