Are you an experienced Test Manager?

The Test and Environment Manager will define a testing practise, producing a testing framework that all testing cycles adhere to the guidelines within. Manages all testing activities and test environments for operational projects and business as usual. This role ensures thorough testing is conducted and defects are identified prior to release. The role will need to define and introduce best practice for SUEZ across the IT environments and mange teams to plan, measure and deliver quality tested solutions.

In return we offer a salary from £53,246 Plus Car/Allowance, up to 20% bonus, pension, healthcare, holidays, sick pay. 

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Define a testing framework and toolset to be used within Suez Recycling and Recovery UK
  • Act as single point of contact for all test management, coordinating testing activities during each stage of the testing process
  • Work with managers, team leaders and business users on testing processes and strategies
  • Provide guidance and advice to project managers, testers and peers
  • Conduct risk assessments, maintain and proactively manage risk registers
  • Develop testing strategies and methodologies
  • Setting up and monitoring testing schedules
  • Documenting test plans and test results
  • Understand the testing requirements and work with technical and business users to estimate timescales, effort and cost
  • Run testing workshops with relevant teams, update meetings and send regular status reports and metrics dashboards
  • Ensure that all phases of the testing have agreed entry/exit criteria and monitor achievements to sign off testing phase
  • Escalate to senior or project management when there is a significant threat to delivery timescales
  • Deliver presentations with appropriate content to technical teams, end users and senior business stakeholders

 

What are the requirements?

  • Manage deployment of applications and solutions through the environment model
  • Implement and maintain version control on all environments
  • Monitor and guarantee uptime of pre-live environments
  • Communicate pre-live environment availability to project management and technical teams
  • Resolve conflicts between teams competing for limited test and dev environments
  • Forecast environment requirements based on anticipated future demand from multiple teams
  • Coordinate the refresh of data, updates and patches according to needs
  • Coordinate activities to automate the setup and configuration of test environments
  • Manage the end to end process for release of updates, patches and fixes through the environment model
  • Ensure up to date and accurate standard operating procedures are maintained
  • Ability to communicate strategy and focus to the team and ensure everyone has a full understanding of the function of the team
  • Expertise in software testing methodologies, techniques, and tools
  • Understanding of test environment setup and configuration
  • Knowledge of defect tracking processes
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards
