Summary of vacancy

Are you working in a process plant environment within the power generation, chemical production, or similar engineering industry? Or do you already know your way around an anaerobic digestion or alternative energy facility?

In return, we offer a salary of £48,520 plus 20% Shift allowance (~ £9,704), Geo Allowance (£1,000),  up to 10% Bonus (~ £4,852), Company Pension, and Benefits Catalogue.
Total Package at the time of joining to £64,076.
We’ll help you progress, and develop yourself further, and will support you with creating a development plan to achieve that.

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • You’ll be responsible for PPM and Reactive maintenance at our alternative energy facility.
  • You'll apply your troubleshooting skills on breakdowns to help identify the cause.
  • The aim is to maximise availability and efficiency, while ensuring everything works in a safe, environmentally compliant way, according to regulations.
  • Day-to-day, you’ll keep logs, flag up and deal with problems, operate the waste cranes and take samples.
  • You’ll also deputise for the Shift Manager, which will give you the chance to enhance your skills, managing plant operations.

This role is internally called AE Senior Operations Technician.


What are the requirements?

  • With a background in mechanical, electrical or process engineering, qualified to C&G, NVQ lvl 3 or equivalent (apprenticeship or industry exposure) in relevant trade.
  • SUEZ will invest in you from day one with a structured development program as, experience and certifications required for the role include; a BOAS Cert IBO, a NEBOSH General Certificate, knowledge of root cause analysis, safe working procedures and accident investigation. (desired)
  • If you don’t have all of the above don’t worry, as the extensive training programme will increase and develop your skills and expertise, providing you with the additional skills you need.
  • Additional beneficial experience includes managing SSOW (safe systems of work), working with boilers, incinerators, high voltage switchgear and ideally be / have been a fire marshal with first aid training. From start through to completion of your training programme, you’ll be a valuable member of the site team.
