What will I be doing?
- Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will help manage the daily running of the transfer station operations in line with annual budget requirements, health and safety obligations, environmental and contractual compliance.
- To support the daily running of a processing facility in line with annual budget requirements and health and safety obligations.
- To plan and manage the day to day activities of the operational team.
- To maximise revenue and cost control opportunities where appropriate.
- To maintain a good relationship with customers and subcontractors.
- To manage fixed / mobile plant and machinery on site including, maintenance, compliance and operation.
- Identify and implement ‘best practice’ for all operational and reporting activities at the relevant business functions that will deliver superior customer service, compliance, safety and profitability.
- To develop the capability of all sub-ordinates and ensure that the relevant skills and experience are available to meet the needs of the business.
- To provide support and assistance to help the location achieve full environmental and health and safety compliance.
- To build effective and trusted relationships with all stakeholders that demonstrates SUEZ's commitment to sustainability and the local community.
- To develop a ‘can do’ service led culture that will differentiate SUEZ as the market leader.
- To pro-actively investigate, recommend and implement operating regimes that minimise costs and promote efficiency.
- To support line management in the formulation and implementation of a local business strategy and improvement initiatives that support the goals of increased profitability, improved compliance and better people management as examples.
- Responsibility for ensuring inclusion of key stakeholders in business activities and of developing a supportive relationship.
What are the requirements?
- You will have COTC experience and knowledge.
- Ideally, you will need to have a good working knowledge of a mtwerial recycling facility.
- The IOSH Managing Safely qualification is required and a NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.
- You may be required to travel to other sites, and be able to work independently and to tight deadlines.
- You should be financially and commercially aware / numerate and be competent in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
