What Will I Be Doing?
As a Technical Lead Engineer, you will be the technical lead in maximising efficiency and sustainability at our Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and biological treatment facilities. This includes delivering process improvements and supervising maintenance and operational activities. You’ll work alongside our cross-disciplinary engineering team, providing specialist support in AD and landfill leachate treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of AD and landfill leachate systems.
- Develop and implement solutions to boost facility availability, reliability, and treatment capacity.
- Lead projects from concept through to handover and recommend improvements for long-term sustainability.
- Conduct technical due diligence on innovative processes, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process innovation across SUEZ’s biological treatment network.
This role is internally known as Senior Technical Plant Engineer.
What Are the Requirements?
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in senior operations or development within AD systems, with co-digestion experience beneficial.
- Supervisory experience in personnel management.
- Experience with AD and landfill leachate process delivery, analysis, and mass balance interpretation.
Technical Skills:
- Biology management, digestate quality control (PAS110), AD feeding plan development.
- Biosecurity (ABPr), feedstock and digestate management, nutrient and trace element application.
- Familiarity with AD general operations, including gas upgrading and electric export to the grid.
- Knowledge of leachate biological, physical, and chemical treatment processes.
Education:
- A relevant degree is desired.
- Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, COTC Level 4 in AD/Landfill/Hazardous Waste, project management, or maintenance planning) valued.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel across the UK.
- Valid full driving license.
