About the Role:

  • Salary: £12.24 per hour plus 10% shift rate
  • 3 shift rotation of earlies 05:45 – 14:15, middles 8:00 – 16:30 & lates 12:30 – 21:00 with 1 Saturday morning in 3, 06:00 – 13:00
  • 42.5 hours per week 
  • Based on Knowsley
About the role

The Duties

  • You will be operating on the weighbridge controlling the site activities and provide direction to incoming / outgoing vehicles to ensure effective traffic flow of vehicles around the site.
  • You will make sure that our site is compliant with the site permit (specifically around acceptance of waste).
  • As the control room operator, you will complete paperwork to ensure the site complies with legislation (e.g. weighbridge ticket checks and train plans).
  • We expect excellent customer service.
  • The successful candidate will assist with updating spreadsheets, controlling visitors and contractors including issuing contractor’s inductions.

 

The Person

  • We are looking for a friendly and approachable team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site permit and who will work to achieve the standards required both in terms of customer service and compliance.
  • The successful candidate will be confident when communicating verbally (face to face and over radio / telephone) and in writing via email.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Word and Excel is advantageous.

 

What are the requirements?

  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • A safety conscious approach with the desire to develop & embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage, but not a necessity.
