The Role

  • This is a PERMANENT position as a site and mobile plant operative at Suez Byker NRRC
  • The working hours are on a rotating shift, 7.00am-3.30pm, and 3.30pm-11.30pm
  • You will be required to work Monday to Friday on rotating shifts as mentioned above, with some casual overtime on weekdays and possibly weekends.
  • The pay rate for this role is £9.36p/h.

What will I be doing as a Mobile Site Operative?

  • Operation of wheeled loading shovel/360 wheeled excavator/ teletruck and if appropriately trained, any other fixed or mobile plant in use,
  • Completion of all relevant paperwork and returned to the site supervisor
  • Mobile plant cover for meal breaks.
  • Cover of site weighbridge (if appropriately trained and certified).
  • Litter picking around the site which includes working outside
  • Aid with cleaning duties across the whole site including the mobile and fixed plant
  • Maximise recycling and recovery within the facility.
  • Minimise the amount of waste that is sent to landfill.
  • To follow all company health and safety procedures  at all times
  • Maintaining a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.
  • Providing excellent levels of customer service.

What are the requirements? (experience and qualifications)

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as Bykers operations are 7 days a week, meaning there may be some weekend and Bank Holiday work.
  • Some mobile plant qualifications would be advantageous, but is not essential.
