Latis Scientific Ltd are a fast paced growing organisation and we are looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to assist with this development.

About the role

About the role

  • You will be responsible for preparing water samples for a different range of analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining standard operations procedures ensuring that correct procedures are followed and notifying relevant colleagues when this has not been complied with.

What will I be doing?

  • Undertake laboratory water sample preparation and on occasions other matrices in strict adherence to analytical methods standard operating procedures.
  • To ensure that samples are prepared for the appropriate chemistry parameters using the correct methodologies within the desired timescales.
  • Investigation of non-conformances related with sample preparation in conjunction with Seniors, Deputy and Laboratory Manager.
  • Ensuring that procedures are followed routinely, and departures or changes are brought to the attention of the Senior, Deputy and Laboratory Manager.
  • Undertake data entry using a Laboratory Information Management System.
  • Implementing all aspects of the Quality Management System and associated documentation and to notify Seniors and Laboratory Manager of any departure from Quality Management System and procedures so that reparation can be made.

What are the requirements?

  • The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE level (scientific discipline or combination of disciplines preferred) with previous experience of working in a laboratory environment desirable.
  • The role requires excellent attention to detail, ability to follow procedures and a resourceful approach.
  • Experience of environmental analysis is desirable.
