About the role

What will I be doing as a Production Supervisor?

  • The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective production of refuse derived fuel at the Altens East facility in Aberdeen which uses mobile and fixed plant. 
  • The successful candidate will lead a small, multi-disciplined team and have a background which has instilled an awareness for production quality.
  • Being able to quickly identity root causes which affect production, isolate problems and implement swift resolutions is critical to meet the challenges of the role.
  • Key responsibilities of the role include day to day Supervision of a facility with the potential to handle 70,000 tonnes per year through Refuse Derived Fuel operations.
  • This will involve ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, maintaining accurate records and engaging the team to maximise their performance.
  • Working with an onsite maintenance team to manage planned and preventative maintenance of the facility is crucial and candidates will have experience of working in similar production environments. 
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements will be essential in order to achieve optimum retrieval rates from processed materials.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring activities of the team comply with SUEZ’s policies & procedures and relevant Health & Safety legislation.

What are the requirements?

  • A proven production supervisor or team leader, applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong capability of working safely and efficiently in a demanding processing environment.
  • Strong communication and IT skills, coupled with a personal desire to achieve, are essential since SUEZ offer fantastic training and development opportunities.
  • The successful candidate must have experience in leading similar teams and be able to demonstrate an understanding and experience of working with KPIs. IOSH or a similar Health and Safety qualification is preferable, with any specific experience in lean and continuous improvement techniques such as Six Sigma and / or 5S, being advantageous.
