As a Chargehand with SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

This is a full time permanent position, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 11.25 per day to be worked flexibly between 06:00hrs and 18:15hrs.

About the role

What will I be doing?

Your main responsibility will be to support the site management team in delivering an efficient service in compliance with contractual, site permits and current legislative requirements. by directing operations at the Transfer Loading Station. This will involve:

  • Consultation with Site Management team regarding all aspects of operational and maintenance functions at the BIO transfer loading station.
  • Decision on acceptance or rejection of wastes delivered to the transfer loading station as per the sites waste management permit.
  • Control of transport requirements for transfer loading of processed waste, recyclables etc
  • Authorisation to control allocation of resources within the site revenue budget.

What are the requirements?

Our sites require working with environmental permits, emergency procedures and company health and safety policies, so prior expereince on similar sites is essential. You'll also need to be a strong team player and excellent communicator, directing colleagues, staff and members of the public, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the site.

Recording and reporting information / data you'll need a good level of literacy and numeracy, with general computer skills, and any prior mobile plant use is desirable, but full training will be given.
