Summary of vacancy

Are you experienced in the management and administration of contractual documentation and agreements ?  If so, then the role of Contract Compliance Manager could be for you.

When you join SUEZ, you get more than a brand-new role. Your work will help us deliver innovative and environmentally responsible solutions for water and waste management. You will get a chance to help us preserve and restore our planet’s natural capital for future generations. It’s a career that’s not only exciting, but full of opportunities as well as professional and personal fulfilment.

About the role

What will I be doing?

You will be working primarily within the Cornwall PFI Team providing support to the General Manager and the wider operational Team to ensure excellent standards of contract compliance are maintained.  You will be responsible for dynamically monitoring the contractual obligations of Suez and its wider stakeholders and devising and implementing systems to ensure continuous improvement.  It will be necessary for the successful candidate to work autonomously and to act upon their own initiative.

As a key member of the Team, you will also be responsible for coordinating the procurement of new commercial agreements with a view to leveraging Suez’s advantage within existing and impending contracts.  You will be responsible for programming and managing regular contract reviews and working closely with the wider administrative and support functions to ensure continued contract performance in an efficient, compliant and cost effective manner.  Our processing business is diverse and leading edge, you will be supporting teams from the whole of the Cornwall and the wider South West region as required. This is a hands on role, working with the operational teams to find the optimal solution.

You will work together with your colleagues in the Contract Compliance and Administrative functions to ensure that the wider team is correctly resourced by managing yourself and your Team in an objective manner, and ensuring that there are sufficient cross functional skills capabilities.

What are the requirements?

This role requires the candidate to develop a comprehensive understanding of our contractual obligations and agreements and further to identify their meaning in an operational context. The candidate will be capable of identifying and quantifying risk to their internal operational customers together with robust recommendations as to how best to control and mitigate potential exposure.  Ideally you would have been working in a contractual environment in recent years, and been working alongside your customers to ensure a correct understanding.

Experience of working with legal documents, formal agreements and contracts is essential.  However you don’t need to be formally legally qualified.

The candidate will ideally also possess a good degree of commercial aptitude and be used to working in competitive contractual environments.

You will need to be well organised with a fastidious attention to detail.  You will programme ad hoc and regular reporting obligations under the contract and ensure that all contract submissions are delivered on time and to the required standard.

You will coordinate and implement a suite of contract audits to monitor and ensure ongoing excellence in contract delivery in accordance with the prescribed performance standards.

You will be adept in the production of written reports, contribution to contractor’s responses and be comfortable representing and leading the company at a senior level within various meetings and forums.
