About the role

What will I be doing?

Main Job Functions:

  • Manufacture of cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, looms and various electro-mechanical assemblies to meet or exceed deadlines and in accordance with build instructions/drawings.
  • Ensure that the build quality of all items meets or exceeds the required standards.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to products or processes to improve build/test times or quality of the finished product.
  • Completion of all relevant production paperwork accurately and clearly.
  • To be flexible and carry out other tasks as requested by line manager.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Company's Health & Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality Strategies, Policies and Objectives are adhered to and report any deficiencies to your Line Manager.
  • Manufacture of simple cable assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies from build instructions/drawings.
  • Use of relevant basic hand tools including crimp tools, soldering iron, wire cutters etc.
  • Development of cable test jigs.
  • Working with Development Department to produce prototype assemblies.
  • Quality inspection checks, and fault finding, on completed assemblies.
  • Understanding the quality procedures relating to the position, including following all work procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensuring required documentation is completed and kept in order.
  • Striving to improve quality and performance.
  • Keeping the work area clean and tidy (in line with 5S principles).
  • Other tasks as requested by Line Manager.

What are the requirements?


  • Experience of cable assembly, including soldering, crimping and wiring.
  • Electrical experience including knowledge of basic electrical safety and ESD.
  • Experience of working to quality standards and procedures.
  • Ability to work from build instructions, drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, but also a team player.
  • Excellent precision and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic outlook and desire to learn.


  • Trained to IPC-WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Experience in the water purification industry.
