About the role

About the Role

  • A vacancy has arisen for a Site Operative - Picker at Huddersfield MRF. You will be responsible for the segregation of recyclable material in the MRF.
  • The role is on a full-time basis working 45 hours per week Monday to Thursday.
  • The rate of pay is £11.60 per hour.

What will I be doing?

  • Pick materials from the moving conveyer belts in order to segregate them for recycling.
  • Ensuring residual material that is not recyclable is removed into the correct residue bay so as to ensure the recyclable product is not contaminated. 
  • Undertaking cleaning within the picking cabins.
  • Undertaking other cleaning duties outside of the picking cabins including sweeping up, cleaning plant equipment, cleaning down plant structures.  
  • Operation of belt controls in line with training given to help manage plant start-up as needed. 
  • Constantly communicating with other operatives/ employees to ensure safety at all times. 
  • Complying with all of SUEZ R&R policies and procedures, including safe working procedures. 

What are the requirements?

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous. 
  • Knowledge of a Materials Recycling Facility would be an advantage.
  • An interest in recycling is a must.
