About the role

What will I be doing? 

A vacancy has arisen for an Aftercare Operative to support the day-to-day operations of closed landfill within a medium sized geographical area. This will include closed landfill aftercare restoration projects, gas management / generation and leachate treatment plants

This role involves: 

  • Responsible for various day to day and week to week maintenance activities including pump and pipework maintenance, carrying out environmental monitoring, collecting data and conducting site inspections in line with policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the efficient management and maintenance of landfill aftercare operations, in line with   environmental permit, planning permission, energy supply agreements / contracts and land use / land management agreements.
  • You will be part of a close-knit team managing aftercare landfills and associated activities in your region.
  • Focusing on the achieving Specified KPI’s is essential in driving efficiency in line with the facilities operation and provisions budget. 

What are the requirements?

  • Previous experience preferred but not essential – full training and support given
  • An interest in being outdoors and ability to work as part of team or individually
  • You should also be willing to attend required training courses for underpinning knowledge.
  • Flexibility and reliability and the ability to learn new skills and put these into practice.
  • Driving license required (clean) – 4X4 vehicle provided for travel between sites to carry out essential tasks.
