Are you currently working in a 2nd / 3rd line application support role?

Do you have demonstrable experience of a variety of business applications, technologies and systems? Are you a problem solver, able to communicate with both technical and non-technical customers?

Experience of SQL and data integration between systems. Ideally knowledge of Mulesoft or other ESB would be advantageous

The salary is from £40,260 - £47,225 Plus up to 10% Bonus, Healthcare, Pension, Holidays, sick pay.

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Reporting to the Application Support Manager, you will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd level support to critical business applications, supporting system processes and data presentation.
  • You will work closely with the other members of the application support team and general MIS teams to enable SUEZ staff to use Information Technology (IT) as a seamless and beneficial work tool.
  • Key responsibilities of the role include managing incidents reported by the user communities, performing housekeeping and general maintenance tasks to the application and user base. The candidates will manage the relationships with suppliers and vendors of applications within their primary support teams. The role will include delivery of project tasks, according to SUEZ and MIS strategies, also proactive in managing enhancements and upgrades to support the business users.
  • The role will include the opportunity to provide call out support, outside of standard business hours (09:00-17:30), on a rota basis (e.g. 1 week in 4, team size / requirements dependant) with a monthly premium then payable.

What are the requirements?

  • You must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide both 2nd and 3rd line support for applications and of using data presentation systems. Working as part of a sub team within Application Support, additional responsibilities will include authoring technical documents (specifications and test scripts), implementing new services, functions, features and systems into production environments. The role will demand excellent problem solving skills, the ability to communicate to technical and non technical audiences and provide consultancy services with the MIS team, specialising in the application field of mobile and fixed business operations.
  • A solid background working with business applications, knowledge of database schemas, structures and objects is essential. Ideally having ITIL v3, specific, desirable, experience includes MS SQL, Windows, Unix, a variety of Mobile operating systems with any Crystal Reports, Web Server (Tomcat, IIS or Apache), Airwatch and Office 365 beneficial. SUEZ pride themselves on the development of their staff so, if you have the core required experience, any specific additional training will be provided, including Prince2.
