We are looking for an additional Process and Construction Safety Managers to support our existing Process and Construction Safety Team to cover the UK South West region.

About the Role

  • The role will be covering the South West region of the UK, so travel will be required. 
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Salary - (£54,843 + car/allowance and up to 20% bonus) plus Healthcare, Pension, 25+8 Holidays working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

What will I be doing?

  • Reporting to the Technical Manager – Process Safety, you will be responsible for managing and implementing a broad range machinery and process safety initiatives as well as monitoring and advising on various construction related projects in your region.
  • Assist in designing and assessing of safe improvement modifications to facilities in a control & structured manner to safely operate and maintain assets within their in-built design capability (Management of Change)
  • Guide and support Senior Management as well as Technical Team in all matters of legislation relating to process and construction safety
  • Participate in meetings of a technical and operational nature
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiative by providing technical, engineering support on process safety
  • Deliver process safety improvement by using process analysis techniques and specification of equipment to ensure the selected solution is safe.
  • Participate and facilitate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies
  • Manage and maintain the Process Safety management system and elements within it.
  • Facilitate and where required take the lead on all aspects of safety related plant design and commissioning. Initial design review through to CE and PUWER.
  • Maintenance and development of the SUEZ Essential Safety Requirements documents
  • Conduct and review DSEAR Assessments
  • Support with CDM regulations compliance across the business. Including but not limited to conducting CDM inspections, CDM assessments, ,liaising on contractor approvals and reviewing the H&S file
  • Assisting in High Potential (HiPo) and process safety incident investigations
  • Analysing and reporting of HiPo incidents

What are the requirements?

  • A process or chemical related engineering background is essential. 
  • Ideally you will hold a relevant engineering degree - HND Qualification may also be acceptable.
  • You will ideally hold a recognised H&S qualification and, experience in the construction sector. 
  • We are looking for someone with outstanding communication skills and sound project management abilities. 
  • Someone who can manage multiple projects successfully, work autonomously and above all, someone with a positive attitude and sound judgment who will inspire confidence in others.
