Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern within our Northumberland Team we are looking for Site Operatives to join our expanding team.

About the role

  • £12.15 / hour
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern
  • Average of 39 hours 46 minutes per week over the year.
  • Successful applicant will be expected to cover weighbridge and loading shoval duties on the Transfer Station as and when required.

Winter – 1 November to 31st March

About the role

What will I be doing?

Advising and assisting the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of material deposited in the sites. 

Maintaining accurate records for the removal of material from the site and of all activities on the site.

Controlling the exchange of containers, by booking loads with the relevant person thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.

  • Maintaining a tidy site.
  • Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ R & R UK Ltd complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions
  • Co-operating with SUEZ R & R UK Ltd and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ R & R UK Ltd Policies and Procedures
  • Undertaking first aider duties and fire warden duties on site 
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role

It is an ideal opportunity to learn about the recovery and recycling of household waste.

This role is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.

A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, operation and maintenance of site equipment. Having basic administration skills for the recording of data SUEZ R & R UK Ltd.’s recording and reporting systems will also be advantageous.

With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health & safety, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.
