About the role 

Location: Arkwright IVC, Chesterfield

  • Salary: £31,525.77 per annum 
  • Contracted hours: 42.5 hours per week
  • Shift pattern: 8am till 5pm Monday to Friday 
  • Overtime as required

 

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Reporting into site Management, you will assist in ensuring the day-to-day operation of the composting site in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operating and completing routine maintenance of mobile plant items.
  • You will ensure that recycling and diversion from landfill is maximised as much as possible.
  • You will ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and correctly returned to the administration team on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.  
  • Under the direction of management, you will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety issues and company policies.

What are the requirements?

  • A broad knowledge of mobile plant and any other applicable equipment used within the waste management industry with certification for mobile plant used on site.
  • You will be in possession of (or be capable of working towards) a IOSH managing safety certificate.
  • Loading Shovel licence is desirable
  • Certification of mobile plant is desirable although training will be given for the right candidate.
  • You must be capable of working within a team and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • An understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable.
  • Previous experience of a similar role would be advantageous.
  • This is a hands on role so a flexible approach is required
