We are currently seeking an Operational Support Manager to join our dynamic bid team. As an Operational Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Bid Managers, providing operational and technical guidance across tendering processes on both Processing and municipal facilities.

As financial compensation we offer a salary from £47,689 to £55,939 Plus Car/Allowance ( £7,768 - £8,475) up to 20% Bonus, Healthcare, Pension, Holidays

This role is to be nationally based so travel will be required. 

 

About the role

What will I be doing:

  • Using all your operational experience you’ll be required to provide over views of standards and improvements required following site visits of operational facilities under the tendering process.
  • Generate alternate site plan presentations considering operations, Health & Safety and compliance including breakdown of costings.
  • Understand compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a strong safety culture is essential.
  • Optimize operational processes, utilizing lean management principles (e.g., Lean 5S) to enhance efficiency.
  • Analyse costs and maintain a keen focus on P&L management, applying an analytical approach to drive financial performance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest compliance standards

What are the requirements:

  • Proven experience in operational management within HWRC’s, MRF’s, Transfer stations
  • An understanding of continuous improvement.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to analyse costs and identify cost-saving measures.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance standards, including site permits, environmental agency requirements, implementation of FPP’s and site-specific monitoring surveys. 
  • Experience and understanding in fixed & mobile plant maintenance and management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement practical solutions.
