Based at Launceston Transfer Station, Launceston
- Salary £12.24 per hour / £30,336.64 per annum
- Working Up to 47.5 hours a week
- Monday - Friday 07:00am - 17:00pm
- Saturday 07:30am -13:30pm
- Full PPE provided

What will I be doing?
You will carry out duties individually, or as a member of a team, for operations to control, transfer and stockpile waste & recyclables at a busy material transfer station.
The role will involve:
- Operating mobile plant, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Managing traffic, such as guiding tipping vehicles.
- Operate the weighbridge and accurately record the weight and other specified details of vehicles both entering and leaving the site.
- Ensure that SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties, in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
- Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with site permits, all applicable legislation and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
- Co-operating directly with customers and members of the public, providing excellent customer service.
- Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role, including undertaking first aider / fire safety duties on site.
What are the requirements?
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a working knowledge of the site licence / permit system and who will work to ensure site operations meet the standards required. You'll need a flexible approach, working in a challenging environment, expected to provide cover for annual leave and on occasion to help cover weekends, as well as:
- Operational experience is preferred but not required, as training will be given
- You'll have the opportunity to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery.
- Prior waste / recycling or similar process environment highly advantageous
- Excellent understanding and approach to health & safety
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Good IT skills.
