About the role
- You will be based at Higher Swan Lane, Bolton ( BL3 3AJ).
- You will receive a Salary of £23,480.10 plus a 3% bonus which is paid on completion of performance reviews.
- You will be completing a Level 2 Transport Planner qualification .
- You will be working in a 4 on and 4 off pattern.
- Shifts start at 06.30 and finish at 18.00 with a 30 Minute Unpaid Lunch Break.

What will you be doing?
We you like to be an apprentice within a busy dynamic transport office where no two days are the same but you can achieve great satisfaction and at the same time work to make a greener planet, conserve resources and dynamically reduce landfill.
The operation is based in Bolton which is the logistics hub of the largest domestic waste contract in the UK, this operation plans the transport and disposal of in excess of 1.05m tons of future resource every year. This is an opportunity to learn all aspects of transport planning working and learning about:-
- Vehicle & Driver compliance including all aspects of legal compliance & record keeping etc.
- An in house workshop where you see observe the maintenance requirements
- A very busy and dynamic transport office that also has intermodal requirements
What are the requirements?
- The role is in a fast moving transport office, and therefore you must be flexible in what the day to day requirements are.
- You will be computer literate in Microsoft based systems e.g. Word and Excel, and be comfortable having interaction with company based computer systems and trackers.
- You will have a car driving licence as a minimum.
- You will have a Grade 4 GCSE in Maths or similar qualification. Grade 4 GCSE in English would be advantageous.
- You will have had some experience with customer service and interaction with different people and be able to show examples of this.
- It would be advantageous if you have any experience within a logistics environment.
