What will I be be doing?
To administer and continually seek development of the provision of a professional and comprehensive pension administration service in respect of the Company’s defined benefits and defined contribution pension schemes.
Package & Working pattern
- Salary to £37,879 + up to 10% annual bonus + 5% Employer Contribution Pension + Staff Discount Scheme + full personal & career development/on the job training and other company benefits
- Hours are 08:30 - 17:00 Mon - Fri
- This is a Hybrid based role with 3 days in the office & option for 2 from home

Responsibilities
- Act as an integral part of the provision of the pension administration function for both individual members of the scheme, employees, Trustees, providers and the Company.
- Responsible for the general day to day provision of pension service highlighting any problem areas or opportunities for development to the Pensions Manager
- Liaise with external advisers/bodies/providers on all aspects of the schemes, attending relevant meetings when required. Including but not exclusive to TPR, actuarial, legal, administration, auditors and accounting, monitoring requests and responses.
- Contribute on the interpretation of pensions legislation and the necessary decisions to be made.
- Communicate with individual pension fund members, managers and employees with guidance, information and interpretation of changes in legislation and other matters.
- Contribute to the drafting and publishing of periodic newsletters to scheme members and pensioners.
- When required, represent the Company/Fund at meetings of external groups.
- To be responsible for monthly pension contributions payments making sure a full monthly reconciliation of contributions is accurately completed, overseeing payments and ensuring follow up action is identified and taken
- Undertake and/or check all changes for pension members data on ITrent, including changes to rates, opt outs and refunds.
- Check all member data held by providers and ensure that any updates are completed identifying problem area and resolutions.
- Communicate with the Pensions Regulator and Inland Revenue in relation to Scheme returns, Levy’s and tax payable.
- Receive, monitor, process and reconcile all invoices that are recorded and entered into SPOPS and ensure that all scheme recharges are completed within defined timescales
- Assist with the reconciliation of monthly control accounts.
- Assisting the Pensions Manager in related tasks
What Experience/Background Required?
- Proven background in pensions administration
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to explain aspects of pension schemes to all levels of employees.
- Excel skills to an intermediate level
- Strong Accuracy of work
- Ability to interpret complex legislation/regulation/scheme rules and to explain clearly to others
