Are you an experienced Assistant Transport Manager?

Reporting into the Senior Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for our Industrial and Commercial operation in Exeter. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our vehicle fleet. 

We’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, brings excellent IT and numeracy skills, and ideally has at least two years' experience managing a fleet of 10+ HGVs. 

We are offering a base salary of  £37,135 - £43,561 plus additional benefits including a company car OR car allowance (between £6715.30- £7356.10 per annum), 25 days holiday, 5% employer pension and up to 10% annual bonus.

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Co-ordinating fleet requirements to ensure optimum availability with internal/external providers
  • Managing the profitability of mobile compaction routes and other systems in terms of distance travelled, price and disposal of work
  • Ensuring that vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with our Policies and Procedures
  • Ensuring that drivers comply with all Road Transport Legislation
  • Ensuring that site and route risk assessments have been completed

  • Transport Manager CPC
  • IOSH (Desirable)
  • Waste experience (Desirable)
  • Strong IT skills
