Salary/Package/Hours
- In return, we offer a salary of £42,750 plus up to 10% Bonus (~ £4,275), Company Pension, and benefits catalogue
- Additional Car allowance at £7,275 p/a or Company car option.
- Additional Personal development/career programme.
- Hours are Mon - Fri daytime with flex start between 7am - 9am. There is a On call rota 1 week in 4
- About the role

What will I be doing?
This role will be responsible for the team of maintenance technicians, providing technical support and ensuring the plant equipment is safe, effective and efficient. This will include supervising the apprentices & developing training packages as well as mentoring them.
The successful candidate will work closely with the management and teams at the production facility as well as working closely with internal and external customers. The role will primarily be based in South Manchester, but will require site visits to other sites across Manchester and you will need a driving licence.
Key responsibilities of the role include developing and maintaining reactive procedures along with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for the plant using computerised maintenance systems. You will set and monitor housekeeping standards and ensure that maintenance spend is within agreed targets and work closely & support the region's Maintenance Managers & deputising for them when they are away. The successful candidate will also seek opportunities for continuous improvements by driving change to reduce maintenance costs and improve overall efficiency.
What are the requirements?
- With proven supervisory / management / mentoring experience, you’ll have a multi-disciplined knowledge base of either Mechanical or Electrical maintenace and/or engineering and be qualified, ideally through a relevant apprenticeship, to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or higher or equivalent qualification (or equivalent experience).
- You'll have experience of working in maintenance engineering roles within manufacturing / production engineering environments, with knowledge including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics and electrical fault finding (PLC’s) or equivalent heavy/plant/manufacturing experience.
- Further training and qualifications developed for the role include 17th edition regulations (opportunity to update from 16th if necessary) and Health & Safety (IOSH), but any required training can and will be provided.
- IT literacy is also essential for this role.
