Do you have experience in Environmental Compliance or as an Environmental Risk Advisor?
Suez are seeking a dynamic and adaptable professional to join our governance and reporting team within the environment and industrial risk department in a project-driven role.
We are offering a salary of £37,135, plus 10% annual bonus, 25 days holiday, 5% employee pension and company car OR car allowance (£6713.50 per annum)
This role can be based anywhere in the UK as long as you are commutable to any of our national sites, going to your closest site 3 x per week as our hybrid working policy.

What will I be doing?
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Flexibility: Adapt to different roles and responsibilities as required by various projects, demonstrating a high level of versatility.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and support business objectives.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues promptly to keep projects on track.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Process ownership: Administration and continuous improvement of business and departmental processes
You will support and project lead on key continuous improvement projects relating to governance and reporting within the EIR department and wider business.
Assist on carbon and energy efficiency reporting and data collation for the annual sustainability report, streamline energy carbon report (SECR), energy savings and opportunities scheme (ESOS), UK renewable energy statistics (restats), and pollution inventory reporting.
Support administration and continuous improvement of environment and quality management systems including certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards.
Risk assessment and analysis including climate, flood and activity specific risk assessments.
Provide a national focal point for EIR best practice, providing advice, and recommendations to the EIR department, operational teams and support services.
Supply environmental data and information as required for tenders, bids, supplier assessments and due diligence. Support roll-out and implementation of new or updated software and/ or business systems.
Support waste classification processes and systems across the business including preparation for digital waste tracking.
What are the requirements/qualifications?
This position requires a versatile individual who can be allocated to various projects based on business and departmental needs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with shifting priorities.
- Degree or equivalent in Environmental Sciences, or alternative environmental qualifications (WAMITAB etc).
- Professional membership of relevant bodies to keep up to date with the latest standards.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- A detailed understanding of project management approaches. The work requires good project management skills to ensure the correct information is provided within the statutory timescales.
- Knowledge and experience of environmental management systems and ISO 14001 certification including, environmental aspects, environmental risk assessment, legal registers, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of waste classification including use of list of wastes (EWC codes) from European Waste Catalogue
- Knowledge of key environmental legislation including legal reporting requirements for example waste return, energy efficiency, permit requirements
