About The Role

Location: St Erth, Cornwall

  • Salary: £13.01 per hour / £32,245.07 per annum
  • Start & Finish Times: 06:45 am - 18:00 pm 

You will cover either:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Monday to Saturday (Half day Saturday with reduced hours in the week to match);
  • Monday to Sunday (Half day Saturday with reduced hours in the week to match with an additional half day Sunday). Sunday paid at X 2.0 rate through July, August, September.

This role can be challenging but very rewarding to the right candidate.

About the role

What will I be doing?

You will be:

  • Leading a team of 4 site operatives plus yourself in the day to day operations on a waste transfer site;
  • Operating mobile plant including loading shovel, forklifts, 360 digger, Shunting RoRo;
  • Operating a weighbridge maintaining production boards and stock levels and records.
  • Complete own training in IOSH, permit to work, Safety in Mind; and be prepared to complete a Certificate in Waste Management within first full year (after probation);
  • Manage the site in absence of Site Supervisor.

What are the requirements?

  • A broad knowledge of mobile plant and any other applicable equipment used within the Waste Management and Recycling.
  • Certification of mobile plant used in site is desirable, although training may be given.
  • You must be capable of working within a team and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • An understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable.
  • Previous experience of a similar role would be advantageous.
  • A degree of overtime and flexibility is required, as the operations run over a 7-day working week, including all English Bank Holidays.
