About the role

What will I be doing?

You’ll act as the subject matter expert for our TMS—bridging operations, IT, and finance to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely haulage operations across the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the ongoing optimisation and technical ownership of our Transport Management System (TMS)
  • Collaborating with logistics, fleet, finance, and IT teams to manage 140k+ transport transactions annually
  • Ensuring seamless integration with SAP/MM, CLEAR, and other ERP systems
  • Building and maintaining SQL queries and Power BI dashboards to track transport KPIs and system accuracy
  • Managing pricing uploads, fuel surcharge calculations, and invoice workflows within the TMS
  • Acting as the key point of contact for both UK stakeholders and external TMS providers (Germany-based)
  • Supporting occasional UK site visits as part of project implementation (approx. 20% travel)

What will I need?

You’ll bring strong technical understanding, high attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset that thrives on making systems and data work harder for operations.

We’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in transport, logistics, supply chain, IT, or business systems
  • Advanced SQL and Power BI skills; experience with ERP/TMS integrations (SAP/MM ideal)
  • Proven ability to manage complex data flows, pricing structures, and transactional accuracy
  • Strong organisational and project management skills (formal PM training a bonus)
  • An analytical mindset, capable of simplifying data for real-world logistics impact
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising across technical and non-technical teams
  • Resilience and initiative—comfortable owning a system used by 500+ users
