Electrical Engineer
(Internal title: Technical Plant Engineer)Location: UK – flexible base at any SUEZ site national travel required
Salary: £48,643 – £50,000 per annum
Benefits: Company Car or Car Allowance (up to £7,864), Annual Bonus up to 10%, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, 3x life assurance policy.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
40% UK travel (2–3 days per week, including overnight stays)

About the role
As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be a key technical specialist supporting our energy and material recovery facilities. This hybrid role combines office-based engineering with hands-on site support, working across multiple locations to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performing electrical systems.
You’ll spend around 40% of your time travelling across the UK, providing both project and operational support to our plants.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering technical expertise in electrical design, HV systems, and instrumentation & control (I&C) within industrial and power-generating environments
- Supporting the full project lifecycle, including specifications, design reviews, system modelling (ETAP/Trimble), commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Improving operational reliability, compliance, and performance across multiple facilities
- Acting as a technical authority for breakdowns, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing hands-on engineering support across sites as required
What we’re looking for
- Background in electrical engineering within process, power, electrical design, or heavy industry
- HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering (degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
- Demonstrable experience in electrical design and technical engineering roles
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems (11kV); previous HV authorisation is advantageous
- Project management experience
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Hands-on, practical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience using electrical design and system modelling software
