Summary of vacancy

Do you have an Assembly Fitter and Maintenance background, mechanically biased with pipefitting experience? Are you interested in a role that involves the production and refurbishment of specialist equipment for the water treatment & power industry?

SUEZ Water Technologies and Solutions (SWTS) provide our customers with technology and expertise to enhance their water, wastewater, and process productivity.

Bringing together like minded people and experienced professionals, we continue to develop advanced technologies to solve the world's most complex challenges related to water scarcity, quality, productivity, the environment and energy.

What will you be doing as an Assembly & Maintenance Fitter?

This role will require you to carry out routine maintenance and production/assembly operations on the installation of containerised and trailer based equipment for water treatment, as well as facility maintenance on the chemical plant itself. This will involve:

  • Production assembly of new equipment
  • Routine maintenance of a large fleet of skid / trailer / container mounted water treatment equipment
  • Regular 5S/housekeeping activities on the site
  • Participating in LEAN/KAIZEN activities on shop floor

We provide EHS training courses to ensure all required risk assessment, lockout and permit procedures are understood, to enable you to work effectively within our teams of mechanical fitters and electricians. Given the nature of the role, there will be occasions of evening and weekend overtime, plus the expectation to perform additional tasks to help meet business needs, when necessary.

What will you need? (Experience and qualifications)

A large element of this role is pipefitting, either PVC or stainless steel, so previous experience producing this type of pipework from technical drawings is essential. You’ll also need excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team, with technical knowledge that should include:

  • Ideally apprentice trained or with substantial relevant mechanical assembly knowledge in a similar production / operational environment
  • Experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings
  • Assembling finished products from drawings, that include electrical cabinets, cabling, motors and pumps
  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance Programs
  • Knowledge of the Water treatment industry is an advantage

With high levels of self-motivation and flexibility, to work towards both individual and collective goals, you will have a strong understanding of EHS and Quality compliance. A good level of computer literacy is needed, but SUEZ invests in its staff and will provide training / development opportunities.
