As a Customer Services Officer at Derwentside Environmental Testing Services (DETS), who offer a wide range of high quality accredited analytical services for the environmental, construction, waste, fuel and engineering industries, you’ll be helping customers reduce their impact on the environment. 

The Customer Services Officer will be responsible for managing all of the day to day administration of their designated client group. The Customer Services Officer will build relationships with their customers and understand the dynamics of their businesses and the structure of each respective client. The purpose is the efficient management and resolution of customer queries and the provision of a high quality service that is fundamental to the business philosophy of the Company.

What will I be doing?

Manage inquiries for the designated client group and management of designated client group

Escalate if queries are outside the technical abilities of the Customer Services Officer, passing on the query to the appropriate member of staff and informing the client of progress.

Manage customer complaints for the designated client group, ensure that all customer complaints are logged and the appropriate paperwork is passed onto the Associate Director Client Services for investigation.

Maintain courier system

Manage contract reviews to ensure the correct analysis is completed and sample information is correct.

Liaise with the respective department heads to ensure completion of work.

Ensure invoices are approved for sending to clients.

Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

What are the requirements?

For this role you will need to have a proven customer service background and ideally,  a degree in Sciences or equivalent in any discipline (but chemistry or biochemistry is desirable).

You should have good working knowledge of Excel, be organised, proactive and assertive.
