What will you be doing as a Sales Manager in the UK?

A lead position, you will be responsible for driving sales of industrial services contracts, primarily through new business development but also from existing accounts. Reporting in to the European Sales Leader for services, and working closely with team members both in the region and overseas, you will interact with a range of functional teams, including the client asset services centre of excellence, global field service and corporate division.

Key activity will include:

  • Developing opportunities in UK, using your knowledge to identify issues and create solutions, to increase business growth and market presence in the water treatment industry
  • Demonstrate understanding of customer needs, working closely with the sales support functions to provide competitive solutions for our customers and drive the sales cycle
  • Identify market trends and changes in the local legislation, to enable use of the company’s solution portfolio, supporting wider business campaigns and growth
  • Define and execute growth strategies and action plans, with accurate sales forecasts, consistently achieving your targets.

Working closely with other sales managers and assisting project managers / engineers in bid preparation, execution and hand over processes, you will collaborate to ensure regional growth strategies are achieved and, whether at customer meetings or conferences and trade shows, we’ll look to you to consistently promote SUEZ’s services and capabilities.

What will you need and what will you gain?

With the confidence and self-motivation to work independently, you’ll have a demonstrable record of hitting targets selling industrial solutions in either clean or waste water treatment. We’ll provide you with the tools and resources for further success but additionally you’ll need:

  • Proven knowledge of selling services solutions in an industrial environment (long term service agreements, O&M, technical assistance etc.)
  • Expertise in water treatment for the large industries, ideally including Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical
  • Substantial technical sales experience in the water Industry with a sound understanding of water treatment systems (membrane technology knowledge a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience; Masters or PhD degree, MBA or equivalent is a bonus.

Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential, as you’ll be interacting with multiple cross functional groups from a variety of cultural environments. You will be fluent in written and spoken English plus, given the international aspect of the role, any French language skills would be advantageous.
