Summary of vacancy

Do you have an assembly fitter and maintenance background, mechanically biased with pipefitting experience? Are you interested in a role that involves the production and refurbishment of specialist equipment for the water treatment & power industry?

This role will require you to carry out routine maintenance and production/assembly operations on the installation of containerised and trailer based equipment for water treatment, with responsibilities including:

  • On-going maintenance of a large Ion Exchange water treatment plant.
  • Refurbishment of company specific equipment for the water & power industry
  • Fulfilment of facility maintenance tasks
  • Able to work individually or within a team of qualified fitters, fabricators/welders and electricians.
  • Maintain the integrity of work rules and processes
  • Use Safety Risk Assessments and comply with these requirements.
  • Follow general EHS standards and suggest possible improvements
  • Complete EHS training courses on an IT system and attend classroom based training. This includes risk assessment, lockout procedures, permits etc.
  • Work Overtime during evenings/mornings and weekends if required to do so.
  • Participate in trainings and team meetings
  • Do regular 5S/housekeeping activities on the site
  • Participate LEAN/KAIZEN activities on shop floor

Required kills and knowledge

  • Mechanical assembly
  • Experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings
  • Previously worked in Industrial setting, assembly environment or other operational role, ideally in the water industry.

With high levels of self-motivation and flexibility, to work towards both individual and collective goals, you will have a strong understanding of EHS and Quality compliance. A good level of computer literacy is needed, but SUEZ invests in its staff and will provide training / development opportunities.
