Mobile Plant/Site Operative – Arkwright IVC Chesterfield

The role

The plant operative must work with the site Team Leader to ensure all operational processes at the site comply with relevant legal, safety and environmental constraints. The Plant Operative must work as part of a small team of people to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the facility and will be responsible for operating the Processing Plant, driving Mobile Plant, in particular front end loading shovels and be required to carry out  general housekeeping duties.

The role is required to work days, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00. Overtime may be required to cater for the sites needs where necessary and occasional weekend work may also be required.

Basic weekly hours 42.5, Hourly rate, £10.42

Responsibilities

· Carry out instructions issued by the Site Team Leader or site manager.

· Operate and maintain a variety of mobile plant in compliance with Safe system of work. 

· Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out general cleaning duties and routine maintenance and daily mobile plant checks.

· Ensuring that within their areas of responsibility, SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by their actions.

· Cooperating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ Policies and Procedures. 

· Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

 

The person

· Enthusiastic team player.

· Who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required to maximise production. 

· Experience operating Processing Plants and a mechanical aptitude a distinct advantage.

· A flexible approach to work, including hours will be essential.

· Experienced mobile plant operator (Front end Loading shovel) is essential. 

· A licenced operator would have a distinct advantage but this is not essential.  

· Willing to undertake training both on site and off site (May require occasional travel)

· As the post requires a variety of tasks to be completed, a flexible approach to work is required
