About the role

  • A vacancy has arisen for a Site Operative at St Erth RTS
  • The hours are;

    MON –FRI 07:00- 17:00

    SAT 07:30- 12:00

    SUN 07:30- 12:00 (JULY-SEPT)

  • The pay rate for this role is £8.62 per hour.

What will I be doing as a Site Operative?

Working within a small team in a waste transfer station you will be dealing with general black bag waste, low grade clinical, bulky household waste, and dry recyclables.

You will need to be health & safety aware and be prepared to work some weekends as business requires, and in generally good health as there is a requirement for a medical to drive plant and machinery. You'll also have to hold a valid British driving licence and willing to learn new skills and on your own when needed.

Good communication skills and a basic working knowledge of computers is desired as successful candidate will be required to cover the weighbridge, and able to input data, and check others work as well. Candidate will be expected to train on, and qualify to drive, a forklift truck, and a low loader. They will undertake litter picking duties, 5S cleaning, and light maintenance around the site. Full PPE supplied.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous.
  • You must be have the ability to not only operate under pressure but be able to think on your feet.
  • previous use of pc is advantageous but not essential
