As a day Operations Technician at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

About the role

  • This position is a a fixed term contract for three months (possibility of it being extended).
  • The working hours are Monday – Friday.
  • This role does include rota work to cover 6am - 7pm (earlies and lates) with 30 minutes lunch.
  • The pay will be £11.19 per hour.

What will I be doing?

  • The coordination of waste deliveries and traffic management within the plant.
  • You will be directing between 50 and 70 lorries per day to and from the Waste Bunker to ensure that that deposits are made safely and accurately.
  • Conducting and coordinating the removal of waste residues and chemical deliveries.
  • Maintaining the operational function of the plant by conducting plant inspections, checks and analysis with prompt operational fault diagnosis and rectification as dictated by the shift operations teams.
  • Maintaining environmental compliance and legislative safety standards.
  • Maintaining efficient working practices and working in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Conducting the effective execution of 1st line and planned/preventative maintenance activities as required
  • Direct deputy and stand-in for shift operations technicians as and when required.
  • Review, update and development of operational safe working procedures and risk assessments as required.
  • Communication and reporting with the site management team to ensure effective relationships are developed and maintained.
  • Promoting a safety conscious attitude through safe systems of work and accurate and timely reporting of incidents.

What are the requirements?

  • You must be able to demonstrate experience in a relevant industrial environment.
  • Working as part of the operations team, you will ideally hold an applicable mobile plant qualification.
  • You must have a valid driving licence for this role.
  • You must be able to demonstrate computer literacy and knowledge of basic software packages such as the suite of Microsoft Office applications.
