This is a permanent role based at our Avonmouth Material Recycling Facility (MRF), working a rotating pattern, week 1 - Monday to Friday 06:00hrs – 14:00hrs and week 2 - 14:00hrs to 00:00hrs.

About the role

What will I be doing as a Production Operative at a Material recycling Facility (MRF)?

The Recycling Operative will assist the on site management team with the safe and efficient operation of the process facility. You will work to increase plant reliability whilst optimising and maintaining the quality of process outputs and work to drive forward a culture of Continuous Improvement .

Your main duties will incorporate:

  • Operating mobile plant, to both feed the raw material & load out the sorted bales.
  • Operating the production baling equipment & carrying out quality sampling checks.
  • Helping out on the manual picking lines where required.
  • Assisting with the resolution of plant stoppages / blockages.
  • Carrying out Housekeeping duties in line with our 5’s lean objectives.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.

  • A safety conscious person with the desire to develop & embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
  • Experience in operating mobile plant is preferred but full training will be given for the right candidate.
  • Previous experience within the waste industry or other high volume production processes is an advantage.
