Employment Tax Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established in-house Tax team at SUEZ’s shared services centre in Worle, Weston-super-Mare.

  • The opportunity to work in an established tax team with many years of collective experience in house and practice
  • A really broad role covering all areas of employment tax compliance/advice to business

  • Support to study for professional exams – e.g. CTA
  • We would consider offering part-time hours, 3-4 days per week
  • Hybrid working (minimum 2 days in the office if part-time, otherwise 3 days in the office.

What will I be doing?

  • You will work closely with the Senior Tax Manager (Employer Compliance) to provide support across all areas of employment tax compliance including PAYE and NI, Expenses and Benefits reporting (PAYE Settlement Agreement and P11Ds) and Short-Term Business Visitors.
  • This is an incredibly varied role that will also give you the opportunity to work closely with teams across the wider business including Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, HR and Fleet. 
  • You will also be the first point of contact to help employees who have employment tax/benefits queries.
  • What are the requirements?
  • You should have approximately 2-3 years’ experience working in employment tax compliance, either in an in-house role or practice. 
  • You will have practical experience of Expenses and Benefits reporting, including car reporting, P11D and PSA preparation. 
  • Ideally, you will be ATT or AAT qualified (to level 4) or working towards either qualification.
  • We are looking for someone who is a team player, bright and ambitious, with a willingness to learn and develop. 
  • You will be computer literate with a very good working knowledge of Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Willingness to embrace technology/automate key tasks to improve efficiencies
