About the role

As a Regional Team Sales Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of Territorial growth targets. The Regional Team Sales Manager will also have full responsibility for the management, coaching and training of a team of Field Sales Executives and Business Development Managers, ensuring that their performance is actively managed and targets are exceeded.

What will I be doing?

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 

  • Understand customer needs and desires and ensure all sales activity is geared towards delivering against these through targeted sales campaigns
  • Understand SUEZ position within the regional market and to recommend changes and repositioning where required
  • Ensure all sales activities are targeted and that each FSE has clarity regarding their direction, the types of customers and materials to be collected
  • Work with the Service Delivery Teams to understand their Fleet capacities to ensure vehicles and routes are optimised
  • Regularly benchmark competitors offering (services, pricing & support) to assess our competitiveness within market and develop initiatives to ensure SUEZ R&R remains a mark leader
  • Develop and implement against a Marketing / Brand plan to increase awareness of the SUEZ R&R offering
  • Provide the appropriate Sales resource to support collection depot business plans to ensure all routes are optimised
  • To develop the capability of the Sales team through formal training and coaching to ensure that they have the appropriate skills for their current roles

What are the requirements?

The regional sales Manager will need a strong commercial understanding of the South West business to business service market such as competitor activities, pricing strategies, sales activities and market direction.  In addition, they will also need to understand the factors driving churn and customer retention and react with plans to improve performance.

The Sales team will need leadership, influence and direction in order to focus and maintain their attentions, activities and motivations in the appropriate areas and market sectors.  You will be developing  and maintaining a culture of being target driven with high sales growth and the desire to achieve and surpass targets.  The sales team’s performance will be monitored, analysed and coached to improve results by the regional Sales Manager.

Finally, this role will undertake tactical planning with service delivery teams in order to effectively identify profitable opportunities, new growth areas, route in fill opportunities and reduce barriers to new markets.

Whilst exposure to the Waste industry would be beneficial, it is not a pre-requisite for the role.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate substantial experience of direct sales with proven experience of managing a sales team. The ability to negotiate at all levels internally and externally with excellent communications and presentation skills is essential. Financial awareness of working with budgets and sales targets is required.

Candidates will require proficient use in Microsoft Office.
