About The Role

  • Salary £38,818.00 per annum
  • Working hours; Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
  • Rest Days: Wednesday, Thursday.
  • 45 hours per week

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • The role will involve the driving and operation of vehicles collecting household waste and recycling from our customers, delivering a high standard of service and ensuring compliance with our customer’s Health and Safety rules as well as our own at all times.

What are the requirements?

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for professional driving coupled with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of customer service.

  • An LGV Class 2 license as well as a CPC card are essential.
  • Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, however is not essential.
  • Experience of working with Roll on Roll off is desirable but not essential as training will be given where necessary.
  • Managing the Drivers pre-shift and at the start of the shift to ensure they commence their rounds safely and promptly whilst resolving any issues until normal office hours commence
  • Managing and investigating vehicle / personal incidents and any road traffic accidents.
  • Investigating and resolving near miss / hazard reports.
  • Weekly vehicle inspections / gate checks.
  • Responsible for ensuring the downloading of VU and Drivers’ tacho cards and reviewing infringement reports with Drivers.
  • Ensuring vehicles are presented for service on time and inspections (inc. LOLER) are completed as per company standards.
  • Responsible for driver inductions and training, as well as delivering toolbox talks.
  • Complete yearly driving and pre-employment driving assessments. Training will be given.
