What will I be doing?
- Plan and schedule the movement of materials from collection points to end markets.
- Liaise with the Distribution team, Hauliers and Waste Brokers to arrange collections and deliveries.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to optimise routing, vehicle utilisation, and turnaround times.
- Understand market trends, and end destination compliance requirements to ensure that material outputs meet end market specifications.
- Ensure all ‘Put or Pay’ obligations are met, and the required tonnages are delivered in line with contractual KPIs.
- Respond quickly to disruptions such as vehicle delays, capacity issues, or quality concerns.
- Ensure that all disposal facilities are fully compliant with necessary Waste Management Licences/Environmental Permits.
- Source contingency disposal outlets during plant outages, minimising losses through financial decision making.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders, and where appropriate assist in the resolution of queries and Supply chain issues.
What are the requirements?
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in waste management, recycling, or a related logistics/supply chain environment.
- Understanding the principles of material flows, processing operations and material value optimisation within the waste management and recycling industry.
