As a Team Leader at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

The Team Leader position strives to maximise the potential in their teams and pass on instructions/ tasks from site managers, being confident and able to operate the various equipment and machinery on site.

This role is a permanent, full time position.

The working pattern will be Monday to Friday 07:00 - 17:00, plus every other Saturday 07:00 - 12:00

The rate of pay for this role will be £12.00 per hour.

What will I be doing?

  • Carrying out instructions that are handed down from site supervisors or managers
  • Passing on instructions from site managers / supervisors to other colleagues on site
  • Maximising the potential of the site and the staff on site
  • Recording data accurately from SUEZ and software systems on site
  • Operating various pieces of plant machinery confidently
  • Reporting defects in any plant machinery
  • Ensuring that the team follow SUEZ Health & Safety policies at all times
  • Maintaining a tidy site, by carrying out general cleaning duties
  • Communicating effectively over the phone and in person with other departments within the business
  • Using various computer systems to aid your job role
  • Develop collaboration between all employees in the team to comply with the site permit, applicable legislation and SUEZ Policies and Procedures
  • Providing excellent levels of customer service to our key clients and members of the public
  • Ordering equipment and resources as necessary for operations
  • Arranging staffing levels appropriately and identifying areas for continuous operational and budgetary improvements
  • Keeping staff engaged and informed through regular daily meetings
  • This post is an ideal opportunity to assist in developing the site to meet the current aspirations of SUEZ, to work closely with customers to maximise the recycling recovery rates.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. As the post requires a variety of tasks to be completed a flexible approach to work is required. The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery.   

Having good computer skills for the input and recording of data on SUEZ systems will also be advantageous.

Ideal candidate will have Mobile plant experience, Safety qualification such as IOSH managing Safely, First Aid , Fire Marshall. Good pc skills ( word , excel, outlook) Good organisation & people skills.
