Are you an experienced Transport Manager with experience managing multiple sites?

As an Assistant Depot Manager at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established recycling and recovery company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • You’ll make sure your site operates like clockwork, meeting agreed client service levels and delivering our regional strategy. It’s all about performance.
  • You’ll create the kind of ‘right first time’ culture that encourages staff to give their very best while working with our team to provide the best operational solutions.
  • You’ll also source and negotiate alternative disposal sites for certain waste streams, and manage the profitability of the mobile compaction routes and other systems.
  • With responsibility for reviewing our offering and putting customer retention, growth and conversion strategies into action, you’ll be a key part of the wider organisation.

What are the requirements?

  • No experience in the waste industry? That’s not a problem – as long as you’re a highly motivated supervisor who knows how to serve up outstanding customer service.
  • To really excel, you’ll need to have worked in an operational role within a high volume/low margin business model, where continuous improvement is key.
  • You will be expected to have IOSH (or equivalent) and full Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) National Road Haulage qualifications as well as a Certificate of Technical Competence in Management (Level 4).
  • Plus you’ll need Dangerous Goods Safety Training (ADR) awareness and a good understanding of the demands of a multi-drop business. Combine all this with the ability to develop and grow new business, and you could be well on your way to becoming part of our team.
