About the Role

  • You will be working to a rota, and maybe required to travel to/ work at other sites in West Cornwall.
  • This can include emergency cover/ training.
  • You will be working Mondays to Fridays and half day Saturdays where required. Half day Sundays where needed throughout Summer months.
  • Weekdays/ Saturdays paid at normal rate, Sundays and Bank Holidays paid at double time.
  • Early shifts start at 06:30, late shifts finish at 17:30

What will I be doing?

This role is an ideal opportunity to learn about the recovery and recycling of household waste. This role is primarily to provide cover for holidays/ training days and emergency. SUEZ R & R UK is committed to the training and progression of its employees and can offer you the opportunity for future advancement and development within our company.

  • Maintaining accurate records for the removal of material from the site and of all the activities undertaken on the site.
  • Controlling the exchange of containers, by booking loads with the relevant persons thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe site.
  • Ensuring that within your areas of responsibility, SUEZ R & R complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions
  • Co-operating with SUEZ R & R and with other employees in order to comply with site permit and all applicable legislation which complies with SUEZ R & R Policies and Procedures.
  • To undertake first aider duties and fire warden duties on site.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.

  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous, as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, operation and maintenance of site equipment.
  • Having basic administration skills for the recording of data on SUEZ R & R UK’s reporting systems will also be advantageous.
  • You are expected to achieve Responsible Person level within 1 year, qualify to drive small/ large plant, and work on a weighbridge so some IT knowledge definitely an advantage but full training will be given.
